Location: Jackson Hole

Summer fishin’ is almost here. Believe or not the Snake here in Jackson Hole is darn near fishable. In fact, I saw two anglers hook up yesterday while I was rowing for a booze cruz. It’s stil fairly slow but within the week, things should pick up. That’s at least a month ahead of normal!
MOST, not all, of the area tributaries are fishing well and should continue to get better over the next month. However, if you’re a fan of the lower Gros Ventre, get there quick. Despite this section holding fewer fish than the rest of the river, it has some great water and is a lot of fun to fish. The problem is the dewatering! Looks like they have already started sucking. This stretch of incredible river will likely only be fishable for another 2 weeks, if we get that lucky.
The streams in Yellowstone National Park remain the same. Caddis, PMD’s, and BWO’s on top and basic streamer and attractor nymphs below.

Get out there and fish1

Cheers,
The Crew at On the Fly
