Hi everyone.
It’s cold here in the Yellowstone region and we have had a great snow year thus far! Keep your fingers crossed it keeps up. Many area reservoirs are EXTREMELY low and need a good snow year. Hopefully we will see a wet spring also.
As for the fishing around here…. Your best options are the same as the last report: Lower South Fork, the open stretches of the Henry’s Fork, lower Madison, and if it warms up a bit, the Snake here in JH. If you’re willing to drive a bit, (or coming from a different part of the country), try one of the regions tailwaters.
Most of the regional streams will pick up mid february, (weather dependent). Before you head out make sure you grab a 2008 license and the state regs…...many fisheries are closed until spring and in some cases, early summer. Please respect the rules.
