Through the Eyes of an Angler

By Baker Salsbury

Welcome to God’s country, this Valley we call Jackson Hole, is a vast area which is largely undeveloped and sparsely inhabited by humans, the wildlife, on the other hand, has miles and miles of land and rivers to call home. And naturally we love to explore their homes. The most intriguing part of Jackson Hole is the fact that you can escape the hustle and bustle of the town centre without a great deal of effort. Anyone willing to go on an adventure has the chance to experience the natural wonders of the area, and experience some very cool fishing situations.

The valley is given its character by the fact that the Snake River runs right through the middle of it. And, we as users of the natural surrounds are fortunate to have such a bountiful and precious resource. The Snake offers many opportunities for recreation, relaxation and obviously some world class fishing. The Snake is a large freestone river which can be very intimidating to anglers from other parts of the world. Many anglers that visit have never seen, nor fished, a river with the volume of water that the Snake has or one as large as the Snake. This can pose a hurdle for the wading angler, however if you venture out and see this magnificent valley through eyes of angler, you will be pleasantly surprised.
